Day Care Policies and Procedures

Admission Policy

CoosaChristian Schoolwill not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or national origin. Priorities for enrollment are as follows:

  1. Current C.C.S. preschool students and children of staff
  2. Siblings of current students
  3. CrossPointCommunity Churchmembers
  4. Children on the waiting list
  5. General public by date on application

Children will be placed according to their age as of September 1st. All forms must be complete and enrollment fee paid before the child may begin.

Withdrawal Policy

Parents are required to submit a written notice two weeks in advance when withdrawing a child from the program. Payments will be due until notice is worked out.


We reserve the right at any time to permanently remove a child form the program for the following reasons:

  1. Non-payment for tuition/ fees
  2. If the director and teachers feel that the program is not meeting the needs of the child.
  3. If the parents display behavior such as, but not limited to:
    1. Profanity
    2. Physical aggressiveness
    3. Verbal abuse
  4. If parents or guardians fail to follow the policies of C.C.S.
  5. Excessive behavioral problems persist with the child.


Continuity and consistency are important elements in your child’s growth and development. Regular attendance will contribute to a smooth adjustment to the preschool setting. Please call the office as soon as possible and let us know if your child will be absent.

Payments for Daycare

Daycare fees are payable weekly. If you wish to pay Bi-weekly or monthly, payments must be paid in advance. Payment is due whether your child attends or not. Your payment is late of the following Wednesday. A $10.00 charge will be added to your account when it is one week late, $25.00 charge after 2 weeks. Your place in Daycare can be forfeited when your account becomes 2 weeks behind. We operate on a week to week basis. When you get behind on your daycare bill it hurts our whole center. Payments may be made by cash, check or money order. Please make checks payable to C.C.S. Should your check be returned due to insufficient funds, you will be assessed $30.00.  Daycare/Aftercare charges are separate from school tuition payments.

Health and Medical Information

Parents must keep the name of the child’s physician and emergency contact informtion current and on file at the daycare.  In the event of an accident or illness requiring medical attention, the child’s parent will be called immediately.  911 will be called in an extreme emergency, as well as the parent.  If this happens the director or teacher will go in the ambulance and meet the parent at the hospital. When administering medication to a child, the following will be observed.

  1. The medication must be in original container labeled with the child’s name.
  2. Prescriptions must have child’s name, doctor’s name, and directions for medication.
  3. A medication form must be filled out.
  4. No outdated medication will be given.

First aid may be given by teacher or the director for minor cuts and scrapes. The teacher will fill out an accident report if such should occur. Please let us know if your child has any allergies.


Please give us a call at 256-456-0595 if your child will not be attending because of illness.  You will be called to pick up your child if he/she becomes ill at the center. Please keep your child home if:

  1. Has a fever of 100.5 or higher in the past 24 hours
  2. Has vomited in the past 24 hours
  3. Has green/yellow discharge coming from nose or coughing up mucus for 3 days. This could be a sign of infection
  4. Has symptoms of a contagious infection (strep, pink eye, Etc., ) of Infestation (lice, Scabies, fleas, rash.)
  5. In case of lice infestation, child Will Not be able to return until all signs are gone, including nits

Children may not return to daycare after a communicable disease until the doctor has released your child and/or all symptoms have disappeared for 24 hours.

Rest Time

Rest time is from 12:00 -2:30 each day for every child. Please send a small cloth mat and a small blanket for your child to rest on daily. This mat must be taken home each Friday and washed. Please label everything sent to the center.


Children will have a morning and afternoon snack.  Please send your child a morning snack in a small paper sack labeled with their name.  Afternoon snack will be provided by the center.  You are welcome to bring a special snack on your child’s birthday.  Please see your child’s teacher if you would like to do something special.


You may purchase your child’s lunch or bring a lunch. You may bring something that needs to be heated. If it needs to be kept cool please place a cold pack in their lunch box. Please remember to pack kid friendly foods. Infants: Parent’s of infants are responsible for bringing all bottles and foods for your child.


Dress your child for play and outdoor activities. We do get messy at times. Select clothing that is washable, and free of complicated fastenings. Remember to dress for weather. Label all clothing and items brought to school. This includes: sippy cups, diaper bags, mats, bottles, etc. Please pack an extra set of clothes and put it in your child’s backpack in case of an accident. Due to safety concerns, flip flops, backless shoes, and jewelry are not allowed. CCS is not responsible for lost or broken items brought from home. Parents are responsible for providing wipes and diapers for their child.

Bad Weather Policy

Please note that we comply with the Gadsden City School System concerning weather related closures. If they are closed, so are we. ***There are No Reduction of fees due to holidays***

I have read and the Policies and Procedures Handbook for Coosa Christian Day Care. I understand that I must comply with these regulations while my child is enrolled.
