Abeka’s proven approach to teaching helps teachers teach and students learn.
It begins with our traditional philosophy of education. This teacher-directed framework empowers teachers to focus students’ attention on the material they need to learn—in a context and sequence that will help them learn it best.
As students begin to grasp what’s being taught, newly acquired concepts and skills are fortified time and again using a method often referred to as spiral learning.
Finally, students’ growing mastery of subject matter is strengthened because of the comprehensive design of the curriculum. Material taught in one subject is reinforced in other subjects. At every step of the way, students learn, apply, and master new concepts and skills. Abeka gives students a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Classy Coosa at Coosa Christian School is a dynamic program designed to empower our students with knowledge through engaging methods such as song, chant, and repetition. This year, our students will embark on an exciting learning journey, covering topics from the 7 days of creation to the fall of Egypt, essential biology facts, U.S. history, and even Latin root words. Join us as we inspire a love for learning and equip our children with the tools need for a bright future!

We bring history alive with captivating Civil War reenactments and our enjoyable "Fancy Dress" Day, where students pay tribute to notable tycoons. We also embrace diversity through our Immigration Celebration, and our President Parade honors the leaders of our nation. Hands On Learning

At our school, we believe in hands-on learning experiences that ignite curiosity and foster creativity. Our students engage in exciting projects, such as creating life-size replicas of their bodies, exploring plant growth in our spring raised beds, and immersing themselves in Alabama History through creative scrapbooking. Each year we wrap up with a special celebration of our students' achievements! They will have the chance to showcase their knowledge in History, Science, Math, Geography, and Timeline by reciting what they’ve learned. Students who can recite at least one area in full will receive recognition, while those who master all five subjects will earn the title of Classy Coosa Conqueror, culminating in a grand celebration! Let's honor their hard work and dedication together.

Tremendous growth, spiritually and physically, as well as intellectually, is what you will see your child experience at Coosa Christian Elementary. We know the formative years are extremely important in the life of a child; consequently, Coosa Christian’s dedicated, caring staff of certified and highly qualified teachers approach these years with a highly engaging research-based, proven traditional educational strategy interwoven with a Biblical worldview.
Here at Coosa Christian, we proudly use the Abeka program for all of our academic areas. This traditional Christian program uses a practical, Spiral-based approach to learning. We also incorporate other research based tools, such as the Shurley Method and Renaissance Learning. Strategies, furthermore, utilizing technology, when appropriate, enhances our students’ learning. Our students learn in small class-size environments that allow individualization and collaboration that strengthens their communicative, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. An important part of our overall mission at Coosa Christian is to ensure every child is academically challenged to become an adept Christian leader in an ever-changing global society.
Spiritually, we desire our students, upon leaving our campus, to know what they believe, to understand why they believe it, and to be able to communicate their belief in God’s Word in leading others to Christ. From the moment they step through our doors, children’s spiritual lives are wonderfully enhanced at their learning levels for quality growth with daily Bible studies, weekly chapel services, and ongoing scripture memorization practices. I like to say everything here at Coosa Christian is about Jesus.
