Nurturing the Christian Leaders of Tomorrow

Abeka Curriculum

The Abeka Difference

Abeka’s proven approach to teaching helps teachers teach and students learn. It begins with our traditional philosophy of education. This teacher-directed framework empowers teachers to focus students’ attention on the material they need to learn—in a context and sequence that will help them learn it best.

As students begin to grasp what’s being taught, newly acquired concepts and skills are fortified time and again using a method often referred to as spiral learning. Finally, students’ growing mastery of subject matter is strengthened because of the comprehensive design of the curriculum. Material taught in one subject is reinforced in other subjects. At every step of the way, students learn, apply, and master new concepts and skills.  Abeka gives students a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

STEM Education

Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics

The STEM education at Coosa Christian School provides immersive and hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students are engaged in practical experiments and innovative challenges, cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for their future academic and professional endeavors.

Music Education

Make a Joyful noise

At Coosa Christian, our preschool students enjoy enriching weekly music classes where they learn praise and children's songs. Throughout the year, they have the opportunity to showcase their talents in special performances, including delightful Christmas and spring programs. We believe that music is a vital part of their growth and development, fostering creativity and joy to their learning journey.

Fine Arts

Cultivating Creativity

At Coosa Christian School, our fine arts program is designed to nurture creativity and self-expression through various mediums such as visual arts, music, and dramatic arts. Students are encouraged to explore and develop their artistic talents, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts while enhancing their communication and presentation skills.

Hands On Learning

Science, History, Mathematics

At our school, we believe in hands-on learning experiences that ignite curiosity and foster creativity. Our students engage in exciting projects, such as creating life-size replicas of their bodies, exploring plant growth in our spring raised beds, and immersing themselves in Alabama History through creative scrapbooking. These activities not only deepen their understanding but also make learning fun and memorable!

Chapel

Hiding God's word in our hearts

At Coosa Christian School, we place Christ at the heart everything we do and learn. Our commitment to a Godly curriculum is complemented by our weekly Wednesday morning chapel, where students of all grade levels come together for a time of praise, worship, and a special message. Gathering together not only fosters a spirit of community but also provides an opportunity for our students to hide God's word in their hearts. Join us as we grow in faith and knowledge together!

A letter from our Preschool Director

At Coosa Christian Preschool, we are committed to creating a loving, Christ-centered environment where children can thrive and develop a genuine love for learning. Our caring teachers treat each child as their own, providing a warm and nurturing space where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow—spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially. We use the Abeka Curriculum, which includes daily Bible lessons, phonics, numbers, and introduces cursive writing in K4. Our students also enjoy weekly chapel, music, library, and art, giving them a well-rounded and joyful educational experience. In addition to academics, we focus on physical development through outdoor play and hands-on activities that build fine motor, gross motor, and sensory skills. We believe that every child is a unique creation of God, with gifts and purpose. It is a privilege to help them discover who they are in Christ and watch them grow in confidence, curiosity, and character. Our preschool is more than a classroom—it’s a family. We value the relationships we build not only with our students, but with their families as well. We understand how difficult it can be to leave your child, and we strive to be their “home away from home,” giving you peace of mind that they are loved, safe, and in good hands. Cleanliness and safety are a top priority. Our facility is sanitized throughout the day, equipped with security cameras, and kept locked during school hours to ensure the safety of all children and staff. At Coosa Christian Preschool, we are honored to walk alongside you during these precious early years. We look forward to being a part of your child’s growth and your family’s journey
